Baranti offers a serene weekend getaway with fantastic lakeside views of Baranti Dam, bonfires, Birdwatching both indigenous and migratory ( in winter the lake and the water bodies are full of migratory birds).

A few minutes drive from the historical Garh Panchakot built in the 9th century and was the home of the SinghDeo rulers for 800 years before it was destroyed by the Bargis (Maratha raiders), the ruins of the fortress can still be seen on top of the Panchakot Hill. The Kashipur Rajbari, the home of the SinghDeos after Garh Panchakot, is a splendid structure built in a mix of the Western and Bengali architectural forms with high columns and spacious courtyards.
A lovely drive may be arranged through the green tropical forests for groups to some Rock Climbing and Nature Trekking spots like Joychandi Pahar and Mama Bhagne Pahar, the Bero Hills of Purulia, the Guests can quietly enjoy the rural surroundings, listen to the occasional howling of the jackals as the evening closes in.

Our Resort is very close to the Netaji Eye Hospital, the not-for-profit hospital is fully equipped and is widely known for the amazing work that is being done. The Hospital was set up by Swami Asimanandji in 1943 on the advice of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in view of the blindness amongst the poor villagers. A visit to the Hospital and the adjoining Ashram is a must, it is a wonderful place to spend some time in quiet introspection.
